Quoizel Gibbons Table Lamp
Details
The Quoizel Gibbons Table Lamp earns its place through two design decisions that set it apart from other Mission lamps. First, the shade: a square flat-topped panel in amber, cream, and deep red geometric arrows, a bolder, warmer color palette than most Prairie-style lamps attempt. Second, and more distinctively, the base: an open-slat square iron column with four vertical bars and visible negative space between them, stepping down to a square footed base. It's an unmistakably architectural Arts & Crafts form, the visual equivalent of exposed structural joinery in a craftsman home.
The open-slat base means the lamp reads differently from every angle, straight-on you see the solid bars, from the side you see through the column's interior. Two pull chains hang from the top of the column for bulb control. Quoizel has produced American Tiffany-style lighting for decades, and the Gibbons reflects that experience in how cleanly the geometric base and shade relate to each other.
Accepts two 75-watt bulbs. Open-slat dark iron column base. Square Mission shade. Arts & Crafts style. A strong choice for craftsman homes, prairie-style interiors, and any living room or study that favors architectural design over decorative ornament.
