Meyda Tiffany Ilona Table Lamp
Details
The Meyda Tiffany Ilona Table Lamp is built around contrast: a wide, mostly plain amber dome above and an intensely detailed lower border below. The upper panels are broad and warm honey-amber glass in soft, even tones that fill a room with golden light when lit. The lower quarter of the shade is where the craft shows itself: a dense woven lattice pattern in dark tones interspersed with small cobalt blue jewels and red accents, like a decorative band on a piece of pottery. The effect is that the lamp looks completely different depending on where you focus... simple warmth above, intricate detail below.
The base is a gracefully proportioned turned column in Mahogany Bronze, with two pull chains for independent control. The warm amber of the shade and the deep brown of the base work together cohesively there's no visual tension between them. Meyda Tiffany has crafted Tiffany-style lamps since 1974, and the Ilona reflects that depth of experience in how cleanly the two zones of the shade transition from one to the other.
A strong fit for traditional and transitional interiors. Particularly effective on darker wood furniture where the amber glow reads at its warmest. Accepts two 60-watt bulbs. Handcrafted by Meyda Tiffany using the copper foil method.
